Welcome to The Medium’s Mind

Hi, I’m Lisa!

I created The Medium’s Mind after years of giving readings and teaching classes — shaped by guidance from Spirit and grounded in my own lived experiences.

Over time, what once felt confusing became something steady and clear — and it changed my life in meaningful ways.

Through that process, I came to believe that working with your mediumship abilities should feel safe and development should happen in its own time.

Over time, I felt called to bring structure to this work…

My understanding of Spirit did not come from performance or spectacle. It came through real-life experiences, steady practice, discernment, and a deep commitment to remaining grounded in everyday life.

I believe working with your mediumship abilities should feel safe. Development happens in its own time — not through pressure, but through patience and awareness.

Over time, what once felt confusing became something steady and clear, and it changed my life in meaningful ways. That clarity is what I now share with those who are seeking a deeper connection — both within themselves and with Spirit.

I created The Medium’s Mind to help others awaken, align, and connect through a grounded understanding of unseen energy — guiding them to recognize their own awareness and approach Spirit safely, responsibly, and with balance.

This work is not about becoming someone else.
It is about understanding who you already are.

Being a good steward for Spirit means being real. It means not hiding behind perfection. It means leading with love, even when life has been difficult.

I believe that in our darkest hours, we often discover our greatest gifts — if we are willing to remain open to them.

A little more about me...

I love to garden — especially when I can get my hands in the dirt and forget about time.

My “kids” are my two big dogs, Mason and Mia, and our kitty, Mini.

I love to paint and create things.

I love to fish.

I love the beach.

I am wicked afraid of snakes!

I’m a pretty good cook.

And my very first job was pumping gas and catching bait at my dad’s bait and tackle shop.

Community Recognition

In 2012, I was honored as Woman of the Year in our community. While recognition is meaningful, the true reward has always been witnessing growth, healing, and connection through this work.

ACUSHNET WOMAN OF THE YEAR:

LISA FERNANDES

She tends to the soul of her town

The owner of a holistic healing center gives "tirelessly of her time"

By Lauren Daley Contributing Writer

ACUSHNET - When Lisa Fernandes turned her antiques store into a holistic wellness center in 2008, she had no idea how much her community would appreciate it.

At Collective Souls on Main Street, she has not only helped soothe the minds, souls and bodies of those in her community but has used her store to raise money for Acushnet seniors and police, helped ease the pain of ailing animals and volunteered her services to those dying of cancer.

For her selfless serving of those in need, Fernandes has been named The Standard-Times 2012 Woman of the Year.  Nominations for the award came from the community and members of the newspaper staff.  Recipients were selected by a newsroom committee.

"There are so many adjectives that can be used to describe Lisa," said Heather J. Sylvia, director of the Acushnet Council on Aging.  "Friend, advocate, healer, all around good egg are just scratching the surface.  She is a shining example of what makes Acushnet the amazing town that it is.

"She is a champion and supporter of the seniors in town." Sylvia said.  "Lisa is a gentle soul who is always at the ready to lend a helping hand."

Sylvia said Fernandes has sponsored two fundraisers on the Council on Aging's behalf and has organized a holistic fair to benefit the Acushnet Police Association.

LouAnn Jenkinson added that Fernandes sponsored a can drive at her store, collecting more than 100 cans of food on the pantry shelves at the Acushnet Senior Center.

Fernandes, 44, was self-employed as an excavation contractor with her husband, Joe Fernandes, until the two of them - along with friends and family - built Antiques & Uniques; it opened in 2005.

"My store was great, but a couple years in, the economy started going down, my best friend and grandfather had cancer at the same time.  All my life I have suffered from anxiety and I was burned out," said Fernandes.

She said her anxiety was all but cured after taking classes in Spirit reading and energy medicine at Uplifting Connections in Bridgewater.  There her eyes were opened and her life was changed, she said.

"I never realized that when I was feeling (nervous) that i was just picking up on negative energy.  I just thought I had really bad anxiety." she said.

Thus Fernandes entered the holistic world whole-heartedly.  She turned her antiques store into Collective Souls, a holistic healing center where she practices the ancient Japanese art of Reiki, crystal therapy, and plant therapy are among other holistic practices.

Those nominating her for the Woman of the Year were effusive in their praise.

"Lisa not only opens her doors to all people, she opens her heart, as well.  In a world short on givers, Lisa fill the gap every day." said Mark A. DeMoranville of Fairhaven.

"Over the last five years I have know her she has always given tirelessly of her time and money to ensure that anyone who is in need is helped.... Without her warm and giving many of us would still be struggling," said Sidolitta "Sidi" Mateo, of West Wareham.

"Lisa is such a wonderful example of putting others first.  She always takes time for people in need of any sort.  She is always compassionate, loving and generous.  She always has a positive outlook and a wonderful way of making you feel like all will be fine," said Diana L. Smithson of New Bedford.

Susan Maguire, of Lakeville, said Fernandes "has opened her home and heart to many in need of care and comfort, including animals.  Her home has also served as a refuge for animals in need of care and attention.  Lisa has performed countless acts of kindness for people of all ages, from very young to the elderly."

Added Corryn Ratcliffe, of Dartmouth: "Lisa is a very loving and warm person.  You can never be sad in her presence."

If you are seeking clarity, connection, or a deeper understanding of what you already feel, you are welcome here.

This work is approached slowly, intentionally, and from the heart.
